I am a mature experienced professional who is still learning from my clients about other cultures and backgrounds I would never otherwise have experienced. Although I traveled the world as a journalist in my first career, I will always continue to be open to new ideas. My work with clients is often a mutual learning experience.
I was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and lived for extended periods in Ireland, London, New York, Minneapolis and now in San Francisco. After working as a journalist based in London and New York, I attended Columbia University, graduating summa cum laude and phi beta kappa with Honors in Psychology and winning the Pack Prize for Psychology. I earned an MA at the University of Minnesota and an MS at San Francisco State University, and completed over 3,000 hours of clinical experience before being licensed as a therapist.
